Ascension Island will leverage the intellectual and creative capital of the San Francisco Bay Area to create a global center for renewable energy research. An integrated system of renewable energy technologies will provide a framework for scientists to simulate different growing conditions and salinities that allow the research to be applicable to California as well as other places around the world.
